The School of Music and Performing Arts is the home of the theatre par excellence, within P. Porto.
This is not only due to the range of educational programmes on offer - undergraduate degrees, masters, post-graduations - but also because the school operates as an incubator of 16 small theatre companies, which develop their artistic activity at the Factory, P.Porto's talent nursery on the Rua da Alegria. The School of Music and Performing Arts also hosts the Theatre Schools' Week (SET).
Partnering with the School of Education (home to the TRIP theatre group) and the Porto Municipal Theatre, the School of Music and Performing Arts will also offer a post-graduate course in Dance, from the school year 2016/2017. Dance is also the focus of the Dance Group of the School of Accounting and Administration.
